Ibiza style saxophone music is a ‘genre’ that began in Ibiza, popularised by various saxophone players such as the spectacular Lovely Laura. Saxophonists jam along to funky dance and house music, playing solos in the instrumental sections of the songs, and sometimes along with the melody lines. This allows a certain amount of freedom for the saxophonist, giving them time to roam around the guests and interact with your guests or dancers.
Ibiza Sax Covers A Range Of Styles And Genres!
Although this is a modern style of music, it can work across songs from dance and house music released many decades ago and bringing new life and layers to favourite tunes and old classics. Each saxophone player will have a different set of tracks that they enjoy and that work for their style of playing. Rather than being up on a stage reading music and therefore fairly stationary like in a band set up, this music allows for the sax player to be on the dance floor and partying along! That said, for certain gigs, Nick Pike Sax has a stationary set if it makes sense for the venue or to make the most of the space available.

There are some huge hits that Ibiza sax players usually cover, such as ‘Freed From Desire’ by Gala and ‘Man With The Red Face’ but if you aren’t a big saxophone fan, there are plenty of ‘chart’ songs that work with this style.
