How about something a little more modern?
Jubel (Save Me) - Klingande
Released in 2013, Jubel has now become ubiquitous with the party sax sound. The original sax part was played by the extremely talented Snake Davis with vocals by Lucie Decarne (uncredited). Most sax players will know this one these days and will be happy to slide it into the set.
Infinity - Guru Josh Project
Nineties acid house wouldn’t necessarily be my top pick for wedding music but Infinity is known by everyone and has a particularly well known sax line. People enjoy it but, be warned, it will split the dance floor as it is quite low energy.
Mr. Saxobeat - Alexandra Stan
And the energy is back up! The decidedly raunchy Mr. Saxobeat is a particularly catchy tune from Romanian pop star Alexandra Stan with all the best elements of Euro-pop and a cool sax line, rolled into one!
Freed From Desire - Gala
As I have said in previous posts, I can’t remember the last time I did a gig and didn’t perform this tune. Everyone knows it, it has massive singalong, dance along and jump along potential. Really high energy and a fantastic tune to deliver to the right crowd… I have played this at retirement dos before and it didn’t slap quite as hard but it’s an excellent choice for a wedding.
Ain’t No Sunshine - Max Oazo
Now, everyone knows Ain’t No Sunshine and this is but an example of the myriad of excellent covers of classics tunes rewritten into the ibiza, Santorini or club sax style. Increasingly, these types of remixes are becoming my go to for the backbone of my set - they’re a lot of fun to have at your wedding!
