Saxophone Songs To Get Your Guests On The Wedding Dance floor

I’m biased, but having a wedding saxophonist is an absolute must for bringing a unique and memorable touch of class to your big event!

Once you have figured out which sax player is perfect for your event and gone through the effort of booking them then you can turn your attention to the setlist and making sure that your wedding saxophone sets pop!

Most things on sax sound good, as long as they’re played by a decent saxophonist. That said, there are certain tunes and melodies that will demand a physical reaction from your audience - they will run to the dance floor screaming for more and bounce up and down.

Freed From Desire - Gala

Instantly recognisable; I’ve played it as first dances, wedding entries, during DJ sets and generally all over the place at various weddings and events. It will get people jumping up and down and singing along. I quite like to either start or end on this one as it brings ALOT of energy.

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (Freischwimmer, Dionne Bromfield remix)

Whenever I’d play the original of this in a band it would draw half the crowd onto the dance floor immediately; such is the power of Marvin Gaye’s original classic. The remix keeps the energy up and with all the singalong potential of the original.

Destination Calabria

This features a classic riff that you will instantly recognise. It has more recently been reused in 21 Reasons by Nathan Dawe and Ella Henderson that goes down well with younger audiences.

I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) - Whitney Houston

The original Whitney Houston version of this is an absolute banger and sends people off on one. I usually do this version midway through the night but there is an excellent remix by Nora Van Elken that is excellent for a more tropical house or earlier, more vibey cocktail saxophone set.

Ain’t Nobody - Chaka Khan

This is another anthemic banger, the original is great but quite long and a bit quieter than more modern tunes. There is a cool Tropical House version by Jasmine Thompson and Felix Jaehn

Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight) - ABBA (Syzz remix)

This remix takes a very cool song and gives it a relentless four-to-the-floor makeover! A lot of fun to play saxophone with and an excellent dance floor filler!

Waves - Mr. Probz and Robin Schulz

Not a tune you’ll necessarily know the name of but as soon as the beat kicks in you’ll be transported off to a tropical island - definitely a good option for a vibey party rather than first dance but an excellent tune for a saxophone to play along to.
