Blazing Into 2024 Like Sax On Fire - My First Solo Saxophone Gig of 2024

January is normally a quiet time of the year for us Wedding Saxophonists and is often a time when we go off to do a ski season and polish up our repertoire or hibernate. But not so this year! Straight after the crush of Christmas gigs came this early January wedding at Nonsuch Mansion down in Surrey. I’ve played there a few times now and am always blown away by how professional and helpful the staff are, as well as how beautiful the building is.

Catherine and James, the Bride and Groom, had flown over from Australia to have their second wedding party in Surrey for their English friends and family. They did not disappoint! The party went off and the dancing was unhinged - Catherine even did the worm in the middle of the dance floor (still in her bridal dress) which is not something I’ve seen at a wedding before, it sets a high bar for the rest of the weddings in 2024!

I also did two sets with my 6 piece wedding band LATIMO where I played keyboard and sax. It’s always great to go out and play with those guys, watching the crowd go nuts for the classic pop tunes is such a privilege!
